Bacon brussels sprouts are a very simple but healthy and delicious dish. Just two ingredients, some seasonings, and 5 minutes of your time can do wonders. In addition, it goes well with many other dishes and definitely won't be an extra at your Thanksgiving table. 

How to roast Brussels sprouts with bacon

You can use an oven or a frying pan to cook the dish. The most important step is preparing brussels sprouts for cooking - make sure that they are clean and all the leaves are healthy. You can soak them in water for 10-15 minutes and then rinse them under running water. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and roast for 20-25 minutes at a high temperature. 

What to serve with Brussels sprouts and bacon

Serve bacon Brussels sprouts with pasta, potatoes, or rice. You can also use it as a side dish to meat or fish (chicken breasts, salmon, or beef). You can also cover the dish with cheese in addition to bacon. If you are vegan or vegetarian, use nuts instead of bacon.

Essential ingredients

  • Brussel sprouts

    500 g

  • Bacon

    60 g (5 pieces)

  • Olive oil

    15 g (3 tsp)

Salt, Black pepper, Balsamic vinegar, Maple syrup

How to make

Please follow the next steps:

    Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Rinse the Brussels sprouts in a strainer. Remove all yellow or flawed leaves.

    Mix Brussels sprouts with olive oil, spices, and balsamic vinegar or maple syrup in a big bowl.

    Chop the bacon into half-inch squares.

  5. 5

    Cover an oven tray with parchment paper, foil, or a thin layer of olive oil. Evenly spread the content of the bowl on the tray. Top it with chopped bacon.

    Cook for 20 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if the vegetables are done. If not, add 5 minutes more.
